Series 2473 is a high quality artist hog bristle brush and has an extra short and firm but stroke ideal for blocking out large areas of paint. It is especially ideal for pushing impasto paint on the surface. It can also be used for priming, gesso, underpainting, varnishing, graining and transparent painting with great control. The bristles are set by hand instead of being cut, therefore the brush retains its natural flags (tips) for even paint distribution. It has a short plain wood handle and a rust-proof steel ferrule made according to certified green manufacturing. Brushes are handmade in Germany at the da Vinci family owned factory since 1890.
